Peter Behrens (1868–1940) was a pioneering German architect and designer often hailed as the world's first industrial designer and the "father of corporate identity". He is most famous for his 1909 AEG Turbine Factory in Berlin, a landmark of modern architecture that treated industrial buildings with monumental, classical significance.
Siemens-Schuckert (or Siemens-Schuckertwerke) was a major German electrical engineering company that operated from 1903 until its merger into the modern Siemens AG in 1966.
The Siemens-Schuckertwerke (SSW) emblem, used from 1903 to 1966, famously consisted of a large letter 'S' with a smaller 'S' superimposed on its center, typically rotated 45 degrees to the left. This distinctive monogram was frequently used on their electrical products and aircraft, such as the D.III fighter.
