Oil painting on canvas of the Fountain of the Seas in the Place de la Concorde in Paris. Signed E.Waugh who was a late 19th & early to mid 20th century British architectural & cityscape painter. He is known for capturing bustling European streets, rainy landmarks & classical monuments particulary across London & Paris in a traditional, textured impressionist style during the interwar period. This painting is beleived to have been painted in 1939 which adds a unique context, capturing the Fountain of the Seas at the Place de la Concorde just before the outbreak of World War 2 disrupted Parisian life.

The Painting is housed in a distinctive mid-20th century composite frame that blends Neoclassical & mid-century stylised elements. The design features dynamic textures & specialized finishes typical of high end framing from the 1930s through to the 1950s.

The painting is in great condition with some age related wear to the frame. Salvaged from an estate clearance, (please look closely at the pictures to get a better idea).
