Japanese wooden sign for an agency office of the Taiyo Life Insurance Company, identifiable by the pre 1945 right to left kanji reading & corporate star emblem.
Wooden sign with all the Japanese characters hand carved into it. At one time it seems all the characters were covered in gold leaf which has mostly deteriorated.
Text on top, right to left reads Taiyo Life Insurance Company, Ltd.
Central emblem a six pointed star containing the kanj character or a stylised stack/mark used as the company’s historical corporate insignia during the early Shiowa or Taisho period.
Text on bottom reads right to left, agency.
Condition is very good for its age, ( please see pictures ).
