Very very rare Tierpark Berlin original zoo poster of a elephant with calf, designed by Reiner Zieger in 2002 as a homage to the Tierpark Berlin. Reiner Zieger was renowned for much of the art work for the Tierpark going right back to the 1960s & especially the iconic elephant prints he did back in the communist era of the zoo. The poster reads " Berlin Friedrichsfelde " Friedrichsfelde is the area in East Berlin that the Tiepark Zoo is situated. The area is also very famous for its communist era prefabricated high rise flats.

In amazing condition, but due to age there can be very small hardly noticeable creases or nips on some of the edges.

The Tierpark Berlin is Europe's largest adventure animal park. It is one of two zoos located in Berlin, Germany. It was founded in 1955 and is located in Friedrichsfelde on the former grounds of Friedrichsfelde Palace, which is situated within the zoo. Founded in 1955, it was originally established as a counterpart of the famous Berlin Zoological Garden, which was located in what was then West Berlin and soon to be out of reach for residents of the former eastern sector.

A global sensation! The Alfred Brehm building opened – the world’s largest animal house at that time. The walk-through Tropical Hall featuring tall cliffs, moats & fruit bats was unique.

Height 84cm, Width 59cm.
